I have recently noticed that there is a low rustling sound apparent when I listen on headphones with my SB3. When I adjust the volume the rustling becomes a very low buzz. It's very similar to the old sound on a pc when tracking the mouse with early sound cards. The sound is sometimes accompanied by a vague low level ticking such as heard with a duff capacitor.
At first I thought it was the headamp I was using(peavey mixer) but this is definitely not the case as the sound is still present when I plug the headphones directly into the SB. The sound is not present when I feed the audio output into the headamp/mixer, nor is it present on the audio out in its normal input to a power amp.
I wonder if anybody is still using an SB3 classic and whether they have had similar occurances, and any possible ideas or solutions.
