Logitech Media Server dependency on mysqueezebox.com - apps and stations lost

Hi guys.
I have major problems understanding the dependeny of my local LMS on the mysqueezebox.com cloud.
My intentions were to install a local LogitechMediaServer without connecting and registering to mysqueezebox.com in the server settings. (Although I do have a Logitech account).
I wanted to be totally independent from mysqzueezebox.com.

Unfortunately, after a couple of days running the server that way, it seems that the TuneIn plugin simply gets disabled, in some way. The Internet radio station list gets cleared and stays completely empty. Also, I don`t have a podcast reader app under myApps or Extras, even though I installed it in the plugin menu.
Only after connecting the LMS to the mysqueezebox system, do the TuneIn stations reappear and the podcast app becomes available. (Oddly, I can only play the podcasts configured on mysqueezebox.com - not the ones configured in the LMS server podcast settings)

So I wonder, whether this is a one-off registration thing or if the connection to mysqueezebox.com has to be maintained. Let us assume the following: the mysqueezebox.com cloud goes down, or gets decommissioned in a couple of years - does that mean, my LMS will lose all its tuneIn radio stations, and the Podcast reader will vanish again?
I would like to be completely independent from any Logitech Cloud services. Especially now that there are major product-line changes going on at Logitech. It worries me slightly.

Any help would be appreaciated. I have been scratching my head over this for a couple of weeks now.

Cheers
Kevin
